How to use the Digital Dropbox in Blackboard
Using the digital dropbox in Blackboard
Submitting Assignments with the DropBox
You can send assignments to your instructor as files which you upload to your instructor’s DropBox. Files that your instructor sends to you will be in your DropBox. The DropBox is located under the Student Tools menu option. Depending on your word processing program and your operating system (Windows or Mac), your instructor may not be able to read a file you submit in the DropBox unless you follow these tips:
- Save a file in the correct format before uploading it
- Your instructor can most likely read your file if you save it in an RTF format
(“File” menu/Save As…) before uploading it to the Drop Box. - Mac users must type in the “.rtf” file extension after the file name when saving the file –
“Save as”… (file type) RTF, then type “.rtf” after the file name – i.e. report1.rtf - Submit your file to your instructor
- Always click on “Send File” rather than “Add File” in the drop box.
