Macintosh Netware Login

Staff on Macintosh computers may login to access shared network storage folders

Macintosh OSX

  • If this is your first time connecting a Macintosh to ITS's Netware servers, contact Tech Support to request a network login.
  • From the OSX "GO" menu, select "Connect to Server" (Or press Command-K)
  • Type the address of the server you would like to connect to. If unsure, contact Tech Support for assistance. Common address include:
    • nv-a-fs2.its.maine.edu
  • Note: Clicking the "+" sign on the address line will save the server address for future use.
  • Click "Connect"
  • Enter your Netware userid and password
    • Apped ".staff.de" to your login name, e.g., "mylogin.staff.de"
    • If your login name has a period in it, you have to use a forward-slash before the period, e.g., "firstname\.lastname.staff.de"
  • Select the "USER" volume from the volume list and click "OK"
  • The Server volume will then be displayed.  You may drill down to the folder you need to access.
  • Tip: Make aliases on your desktop of often-used folders.  In the future, opening the alias will log you into the server.
