Windows Security Settings

To enable saving passwords for sharepoint sites, add the sharepoint site to Internet Explorer, Tools, Security, Local Intranet. 

  • For the ITS Sharepoint service add the site: https://itssps.its.maine.edu


To allow copying files from a computer's network share, to sharepoint using Windows Explorer, add the network share to Internet Explorer, Tools, Security, Local Intranet. 

  • For example, if your computer normally has a network share mapped as the "U:" drive, then add "U:\" to the list of Intranet sites in IE.  IE will automatically translate it to a network path, e.g., "File:\\[server]\[share name]"
