Centers to get 2nd videoconferencing unit
Due to the increased demand on the videoconferening at centers, an additional unit will be added at most centers.
In 2003, centers received a Polycom videoconferencing room that allowed students to take courses that had only been available at campuses over the compressed video system. The videoconferencing capability also allowed students to participate in courses that were offered at other centers.
With the advent of a second videoconferencing unit, more courses can be offered which take advantage of this two-way video technology. More than one unit has been available at Houlton, Bath/Brunswick, and Thomaston Centers for some time.
Second units will be put in the following centers prior to the beginning of the Spring semester:
- Sanford
- Saco/Biddeford
- Rumford/Mexico
- Ellsworth
- Calais
