Anti-Virus Software

The University of Maine System maintains a system-wide license for the use of Symantec AntiVirus on all university-owned computers.  The license also authorizes employees and students of the University of Maine System to install Symantec AntiVirus on one personally-owned computer.

You will be prompted for your UMSID (the same id you use for MaineStreet).

As of 6/30/2008, included in the license are:

 Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10 for Windows and Netware

 Symantec Endpoint Protection 11

 Symantec Antivirus 10 for Macintosh

Note: Our systemwide license includes "Symantec" branded corporate antivirus products and does not include the "Norton" line, e.g. Norton Antivirus for Macintosh 11.
