Site Computers
Computer resources at University College sites vary widely. Most sites provide computer resources to University College students. Generally, sites provide access to the Microsoft Office suite of software, printing via an inkjet printer and Internet access. If you intend to use a site computer to receive an online course, you are responsible for determining if the site computer is capable of performing the necessary function. If you need access to computer resources, contact the site where you intend to take the course before registering.
ITS manages computer resources at the following sites only.
- Telstar (Bethel)
- Dexter
- Nokomis (Newport)
At these sites, users with valid @maine.edu or DSIS accounts can login directly to the site computers.
ITS-managed site computers are typically Pentium 4 class machines with floppy diskette drives and USB ports for student memory sticks (ITS recommends the use of memory sticks for saving student work). Most sites provide access to a black and white inkjet printer.
